Lauren Alaina tests positive for COVID-19, cancels the appearance of concerts: ‘Try to get better!’

Lauren Alaina canceled an upcoming show after testing positive for COVID-19.

The 26-year-old country star shared a statement on her social media pages Saturday told that she is currently recovering in quarantine.

“I am so sad to say that I will not be at the acoustic show in Lexington, Kentucky tonight,” Alaina said in a statement. “I tested positive for COVID yesterday. I’m researching and trying to get better! Please know that I can not wait to be back – if it’s safe for all of us.”

The singer also added a plea for fans to see the other artists still participate in the show, which would take place on Saturday night.

“I’m so disappointed I will not be at the show, but it might help me cheer up a little bit if you are going to send me videos and photos,” Alaina wrote. “Please go to the show tonight and celebrate my friends Jon Pardi, Jordan Davis, Travis Denning and Priscilla Block. Thanks to WAMZ and WBUL for understanding so much.”

After posting the statement, the singer “Getting Good” opened up about her symptoms in her Instagram story. “Thank you for all the wishes,” she says in a video in which she was curled up on the couch with her dog.

“I rest and try to feel a little better. Some people feel worse than I do – I just have a little shortness of breath, a very bad headache, no taste or smell, a very bad congestion and I feel pretty tired,” he said. Alaina explains.

“But I generally feel it’s going to be okay,” she concluded, before looking at the camera at her dog and adding, “and I have this sweet nurse!”
