Laura Bailey and Liam O’Brien return as Kidney Replicant Voice Actors

In a new preview for the game, Square Enix announces that two veterans of Kidney Replicant are returning.

Kidney Replicator ver.1.22474487139 kept us all in mind as we slowly got closer to the game’s release in April 2021. Today the game made some headlines when Square Enix gave us an extensive look at the game. A YouTube video from Square Enix showed the flashy battles and some sandy temple environments. The voice acting in the video was in English, which gave us a surprising look at the Kidney replicant voice actors: Laura Bailey and Liam O’Brien have returned to the series.

Understanding the relevance of this news took me some time and research. If you are not aware of this, let us pick you up quickly. Kidney Replicator ver.1.22474487139 serves as a prelude to 2017s Nier Automata. It also serves as a remake of 2010s Kidney replicant (or simple Kidney to everyone outside of Japan.)

The English vote for Kidney Replicator ver.1.22474487139 has not yet been officially announced. However, it looks like Square Enix was ready for Laura Bailey and Liam O’Brien’s return as Kidney replicant voice actors. The pair pronounced characters in the original Kidney replicant and it would appear that they are revaluing their roles as Kaine and Grimoire Weiss respectively.

This is only the second look we look at Kidney Replicant ver.1.22474487139, following the revealing trailer of the Game Awards, and the first English voice material we saw of the game. It is therefore now unclear whether other actors of the original Kidney replicant will return to their roles.
