‘Last Man Standing’ and ‘Home Improvement’ crossover let fans recharge

On Thursday night’s episode of ‘Last Man Standing’, actor Tim Allen repeated his role of Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor in his former program ‘Home Improvement’.

In the crossover event, Taylor wants to meet Allen’s current character, Mike Baxter, because he heard they look so much alike.

At one point, Mike tells Tim: ‘You might be thinking about reloading the’ Tool Time ‘, which has sent fans on social media in a frenzy.

“Did this episode of @Last man standing just teasing a reload of tool time? ‘ ask a fan.

“Yes, Yes YES Reload tool time,” begged another.

“Please tell me that tool time is coming back. Sounded like a tip to me ..?” interrogate a user.

The explosion from the past has made some fans feel nostalgic about the beloved show that aired on ABC from 1991 to 1999.

“Tonight’s episode of #LastManStanding put me in jeopardy. It also made me realize how much I really miss #HomeImprovement. #ToolTime,” one person said.

“When we see Mike Baxter and Tim ‘Tool Time’ Taylor together, I’ll bring my favorite show and my favorite show together now. I’d laughed so much!” wrote another.

As ‘Last Man Standing’ enters its final season, Allen told Fox News he is proud that the show has lasted so long on FOX, but that he is also understandably upset to greet another character.

He admitted that it was ‘awful’ to go set every day, knowing that one day it was closer to the last day of production.

“I thought it would be a good idea,” Allen revealed. “It was a terrible idea!”

The 67-year-old said: “It was really confusing for me to play Tim Taylor, who I think Mike Baxter is an evolution of that character. He’s smarter, went to college. We do not know if Tim Taylor really was “stupid or really smart. I mean, I played the man, I was not sure.”

‘Last Man Standing’ started on ABC in 2011 before the network canceled the program. FOX revived the sitcom and gave it a 7th, 8th and 9th season.
