This was surprising to investigators. “It was unusual for detectives at that time to provide this very detailed version of events on February 1, when at that point we thought Loren was only killed on February 3,” Hutchinson told Snapped. High also texted another girl he saw, DaShanell Harris. Investigators conducted an interview with Harris who said she spent January 31, 2017 at High’s home. On the evening of February 1, Harris sent an SMS: ‘I had a much-needed conversation with my ex to end. Wish me luck. Investigators asked Harris to look at the photos of the crime scene in the hope that she might spot something out of place. “DaShanell was able to point to the couch and say that this piece of glass with the drug residue was not actually there when she left on the morning of February 1,” said sergeant.
