The new league year has begun and one can sign one of the greatest receivers of all time.

Cardinal receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a free agent for the first time in his career.

Fitzgerald has not announced its plans for 2021. Arizona’s deal with receiver AJ Green strongly suggests Fitzgerald will not be back.

With DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk and Green in the rankings, the fourth man on the depth map (Green of Fitzgerald) will take the place of a younger player who will usually contribute to special teams. With Green earning $ 8 million and Hopkins at the top of the market, it can be difficult to make a significant financial investment in a fourth recipient.

The immediate reaction around the league to the Green signing is that Fitzgerald is not coming back, and the Cardinals know it. The question then becomes whether he will join another team.

He has never looked like a man who would play for a team other than the Cardinals. However, during the 2020 season, he said he would retire if the Cardinals won the Super Bowl. Maybe Fitzgerald will make a one-and-done run with another team that is much closer to true Super Bowl candidate status, like the Chiefs or the Buccaneers (if Antonio Brown is not back).
