The coffin of Prince Philip will drive in one of his old cars, according to Buckingham Palace, in a procession through the grounds of Windsor Castle to his funeral.
The vehicle is a custom Land Rover Defender 130-based ‘rifle bus’ built by Foley Specialist Vehicles for the Duke of Edinburgh in 2016, reports The Sun.

The vehicle was built to hold hunting parties on the grounds of one of the royal family’s Sandringham House estates.
The Land Rover has since been further adapted for funeral use with input from Prince Philip himself.

Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth were regularly seen driving around in Land Rovers.

Prince Philip was driving a Land Rover Freelander when he was involved in a car accident on a public road in 2019, at the age of 97, which resulted in him relinquishing his driving license forever.
Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Philip’s funeral will take place on Saturday, April 17. The deceased husband of Queen Elizabeth is currently resting at Windsor Castle.
He is 99 years old on April 9th.
