Pop singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey has a busy week defending herself online.
After drawing attention on Instagram earlier this week for defending her new album cover and saying she’s incapable of being racist because she ‘went out with rappers’, Del Rey has now resigned after saying that she does not believe Trump intentionally incited the riot. last week at the Capitol.
Del Rey (born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant) told BBC Radio 1 on Monday that she did not think Trump knew what he was doing when he gave his address and urged his followers to ‘fight much harder’ to defend the ‘stolen’ election and “Show strength” at the Capitol.
Shortly after his remarks, a large crowd of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, temporarily halting the certification of President Joe Biden’s election election. Trump later described his comments before the riot as “completely appropriate”.

Del Rey told the BBC she thinks Trump should get the benefit of the doubt.
“You know, he does not know he’s inciting a riot, and I believe that,” Del Rey said. She added that she thinks Trump has ‘delusions of grandeur’.
Del Rey also said she thinks the riot should happen.
“The madness of Trump … No matter how bad it was, it really had to happen,” Del Rey said in the interview. “We really needed a reflection of our world’s biggest problem, which is not climate change, but sociopathy and narcissism,” she said, “especially in America. It’s going to kill the world. This is not capitalism, but narcissism. ”
After fans and media reports started asking if Del Rey was secretly a Republican voter, she typically slammed back with a series of tweets and videos posted on her Instagram with the caption “take it out of your system and GFYS. “

I personally do not understand it. ‘I just think sometimes it’s easy to sketch this picture, but man, I struggled to become the true singer-songwriter that I am,’ she said.
