LaLiga Santander Will have to reduce the wage bill

Rreports began to appear with details on the updated salary cap for each team in LaLiga Santander to the transfer window in January.
Each of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis since the end of the summer transfer window have lowered their salary restrictions.
In findings of Cope and Radio MARCA, Real Madrid‘s shrank the most by 48 million euros to 420 million euros, while Barcelona‘s is 35 million euros lower to 347 million euros and Atletico‘s is 34 million euros lower to 218 million euros.
Due to these new ceilings, the clubs that have lowered their limits will have to find a way to lower their payroll in the coming months.
Other clubs that have seen their caps drop are Athletics Club, Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Elche, Celta Vigo, Real Valladolid, Granada, Eibar and Huesca.
Of the remaining teams, Valencia, Celta Vigo, Osasuna, Cadiz, Alaves and Levante saw their caps being lifted while Getafes remained relatively the same.
LaLiga is expected to officially announce the new salary restrictions on Tuesday, when they will also announce losses of one billion euros for the 2020/21 season.
These numbers, plus the lack of movement of LaLiga clubs during the January transfer window, show the impact of the coronavirus crisis on Spanish football’s finances.
