Anthony Davis will reportedly be reevaluated within 2-3 weeks after having a calf during the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski reported the MRI revealed that the calf injury and an aggravation of Judge Achilles tendinosis that Davis was dealing with came to light. He added: “it is highly unlikely that Davis will return to the series” ahead of the March 5-10 All-Star Break.

Davis did not play 122-105 in the second half of the team’s defeat on Sunday after suffering the injury, which followed after he had to miss two games with the Achilles tendinosis earlier this week.

Davis exacerbated the injury in the second quarter when he ran into Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets Center knee hit Davis’ four-wheel drive vehicle, injuring his lower leg when he planted his foot. After two free throws, he pulled out of the game.

According to ESPNs Dave McMenamin, the 27-year-old ‘holds a lined hook light in his sneaker and wears a sleeve while sleeping that keeps his Achilles in a stretched position’ to limit the pain.

Davis said he could increase his treatment regime to return to court earlier, but said he intended to be “even smarter” than the first time he returned Friday to drop 35 points in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Kyle Kuzma took over for Davis after the injury, and the fourth-year forward is expected to continue playing in his place until the All-Star can return seven times.
