Lake Champlain Chocolates Recalling Products Distributed Across the US – NECN

Lake Champlain Chocolates is recalling milk chocolate products due to possible foreign objects, the company announced Friday. The famous Vermont company has asked customers to throw away all products currently on the market from July 2020 to January 2021.

The products in question were distributed to retailers in all 50 states and in the three stores in Vermont.

The voluntary recall was issued after a consumer reported finding crisp plastic pieces in a final product, the company said. To date, no consumer has reported adverse health effects due to this contamination.

After an initial investigation and out of abundance of caution, the company said they decided to recall all products that could be affected from a set date for potential foreign objects.

There are a number of affected products, including several flavors from the company’s five-star bar, and according to the company’s website, this could have been included in the collection of gift baskets, including Christmas choices.

The company says it is committed to quality products and consumer safety and is taking aggressive steps to avoid the need for future reminders of its products.
