The kidnapping of lady GagaHer dogs and the shooting of her dog walker have made Hollywood walkers on their guard … they want to protect themselves and the pets they care for with a substantial firepower.
We contacted a number of dog walking businesses in the Hollywood area – where the shooting / kidnapping has decreased – and according to some companies they increase safety – changed their dog walking schedules to repeat what happened Wednesday night.

Anna-Marie Arredondo, owner of Happy Heart Pet Care in WeHo, tells TMZ … she wants to get a hidden drapery permit, STAT. If she’s successful – which is incredibly difficult to obtain in California, she plans to tackle heat on her run.
She also looks at jiu-jitsu classes so she can protect herself and the pets. What’s more … all night walks will only go down in well-lit, very wrong areas. She says if it’s too dark or sketchy … she will drag the dogs in her car and drive to a safer place.
Renee Lutz, owner of Fetch! Pet care in the Hollywood Hills, TMZ says … she will give all 38 of her puppies pepper spray and flashlights. She also walks 86 nights.
Alyssa and Saul, owners of Troop Canine in Griffith Park, tell TMZ … they too do not do night walks anymore … in the foreseeable future they will limit walks to mornings and afternoons. They also look at buying body wheels, like GoPros, so that cameras roll like any thieves want to touch.
All the owners we spoke to said they would continue to walk French Bulldogs … a prestigious breed. TMZ broke the story … Lady Gaga’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was Shot Wednesday night in Hollywood after 2 men got out of a white sedan and kidnapped two of her French bulldogs Koji and Gustav.
There have been no arrests yet and LG has made an offer $ 500,000 reward for the return of her dogs.
