The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department executed a warrant on Tiger Woods’ car after the golfer was involved in a serious accident last week.
The department said looking at the “black box” of the car was a routine procedure that could yield data such as speed and braking activity, and did not indicate that the golfer was guilty. Last week, the sheriff’s department described the accident as ‘merely an accident’.
“We are trying to determine if a crime was committed,” Deputy Attorney General John Schloegl told USA Today Sports on Tuesday. ‘If someone is involved in a traffic collision, we have to reconstruct the traffic collision, if there is reckless driving, if someone was on their cell phone or something like that.
