LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) Health officials in Los Angeles County updated the province’s travel advice on Monday in response to the new federal guidance issued last week.
According to the updated guidelines issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday, people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can travel without being tested or quarantined.

According to the province’s new advice, travelers who have not been fully vaccinated should be quarantined for seven days if they undergo a negative test within three to five days of arriving in the country. If they are not tested, they must be quarantined for ten full days.
“You do not need to be tested or self-quarantined if you have been fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 in the past three months,” CDC officials said. “You should still follow all other travel recommendations.”
The guidelines say “travelers who are fully vaccinated are less likely to get and disperse COVID-19. ”

“Grandparents who are fully vaccinated, for example, can fly to go to their healthy grandchildren without getting a COVID-19 test, or take self-quarantine, provided they follow the other recommended preventative measures,” said Dr. Rochelle Walensky, CDC director, said at an information session in the White House on Friday. .
The CDC and LA County officials both recommend that travelers continue to wear masks in public transportation and urge travelers to distance themselves socially and wash their hands or use hand sanitizer regularly.
People who are not vaccinated are still encouraged by the CDC to postpone any trip, “because travel increases your chances of getting and distributing COVID.”
Meanwhile, the province on Monday reported one new COVID-19 death, and 366 additional cases, pointing out that the numbers on Monday were artificially low due to overdue reports from the weekend.
