Kyle Higashioka responds after vows from fans tattoo the Yankees catcher ‘on my a-‘

Kyle Higashioka hits homers on the field and on Twitter.

Out of all the tweets the Yankees catcher could respond to – after picking Homer twice in the 3-1 win over the Blue Jays on Monday night – he picked one that made the fans crack.

After the Yankees victory over Toronto, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, a popular Internet personality and co-owner of Esports, tweeted the team and wrote, “@Yankees I get a Kyle Higashioka tattoo on my a.” A brave move that was presumably fueled by Higashioka’s excellent offensive performance, as well as his good chemistry with pitcher Gerrit Cole.

“Is that true,” Higashioka replied to Dunlop’s tweet.

Dunlop it simply answered: “Sh-t…”.

Higashioka has not yet responded, but many Twitter users find the exchange hilarious. Others joked Dunlop jokingly because he jumped on the Higashioka wagon after his continued progress behind the plate and the bat.

Higashioka was a bright spot for the Yankees and is the popular backup for Gary Sanchez. Cole, the team’s ace, fared much more consistently with Higashioka than Sanchez.

During Monday night’s game, Higashioka delivered on both sides of the ball – playing a key role in supporting Cole and hitting two homers, which drove the Yankees to a victory on a night where they struggled on the board .

Aaron Boone said that while Higashioka would not be Cole’s ‘full-time’ catcher, the 30-year-old, who was selected by the team in the seventh round of the MLB draft in 2008, would ‘catch him a lot.’ Boone noted that Sanchez will still catch Cole.
