Kiyaunta Goodwin, the best offensive target, commits himself to Kentucky in the state of Ohio and others

Kiyaunta Goodwin made his decision.

And that’s bad news for Buckeye fans.

Goodwin, Ohio’s No. 1 target on the offensive, and probably also regardless of his position in the 2022 class, has committed himself to Kentucky, he announced today.

Ranked 54th overall, No. 7 on offense and second in the state of Indiana, the prospect of Charlestown High School is a future five-star and potential NFL draft pick. He chose to choose from more than 60 offers, including a top-five he brought to Kentucky, Ohio, Alabama, Clemson and Michigan.

“Kentucky has a very good offense,” Goodwin said Elf Krygers shortly before he made that list public. ‘I keep up with the offensive lines, and it surprises you. This is one of the main reasons. Before Coach (John) Schlarman, we had a wonderful relationship before he passed away. When Coach (Eric Wolford) took over, he called me when he got the job. It shows that he was very invested in me and that he took this relationship and my recruitment very seriously. ”

As we reported earlier (a few times actually), the Buckeyes are going to continue to recruit Goodwin. His recruitment is far from over, those near Goodwin are determined, as he is still going to take his five official visits as soon as the deadlock period comes to an end, which is likely to come in early June.

There should still be optimism that Goodwin could still end up in Ohio State if the visits open and if he makes contact with the Buckeye coaches as soon as he meets them in person for the first time – plus with any of the Buckeyes’ commitments he may see during a visit to campus.

The state of Ohio will continue to recruit Goodwin while at the same time focusing more on offensive targets Aamil Wagner, Zach Rice, Addison Nichols and Tyler Booker.
