Kim Kardashian said she could relate to the way Britney Spears was treated by the public and media after the TV star watched the documentary “Framing Britney Spears”.
The 40-year-old Skims founder revealed that she now feels ‘a lot of empathy’ for Spears and realizes how similar their journeys were.
“The way the media played a big role in her life the way it did can be very traumatic and it can break even the strongest person. No matter what someone’s life looks like in public, no one deserves it. to be treated with such cruelty or judgment for entertainment, ”Kardashian wrote on her Instagram on Friday.

“I suffered from preeclampsia, which made me swell uncontrollably. I picked up 60 pounds and gave birth almost 6 weeks early and I cried every day about what was happening to my body, mainly from the pressure to be constantly compared to what ‘society considers a healthy person to look like a pregnant person – as well as being compared by the media to Shamu the Whale,’ she reflected.

Kardashian admitted that it felt ‘unsafe’ when she looked at her photos online or in magazines.
“I was ashamed weekly with front-page stories that hurt my insecurity so much that I could not leave the house for months afterwards. It really broke me,” she continued.

The TV producer said she channeled her negative feelings about herself into ‘motivation’, but that her mental health took a toll.

“I share it just to say that I really hope that everyone involved in the shame and bullying to the point of breaking them down can reconsider it and rather try to show understanding and compassion,” Kardashian concluded. “You just never know what someone is going through behind the scenes, and through my own experiences I have learned that it’s always better to lead with kindness.”
Dozens of celebrities have spoken out in defense of the Spears after the release of the documentary that drew attention to the demise of the singer’s superstar and conservatory fight.

The New York Times program also led to fans of the star speaking out against Justin Timberlake and Diane Sawyer about the way they have treated the pop star in the past. The unauthorized doctor also contributed to those who demanded that Spears be released from her conservatory.
The conservatory – a legal guardianship that gives her father, Jamie Spears, control over her finances and everyday life – has fueled the “#FreeBritney” movement with supporters calling for her to be exempt from the legal agreement.

In February, a judge ruled that Spears would remain under a conservatory after which her father Jamie and Bessemer Trust Co. supervise.
