According to a tweet of the Killeen police station, crew members fought a large structural fire at the hotel and urged residents in the area to avoid the area.
There was no information on whether the hotel was occupied or whether there were any injuries. The hotel’s website said it has 102 rooms.
The video of the affiliated KWTX showed several police and firefighters at the scene where the building was completely engulfed.
Earlier in the day, the City of Killeen tweeted that he, like most of the state, is experiencing water conservation conditions due to this week’s storms. “We are in phase 5 water saving due to extremely limited water supply,” the city tweeted.
