Kidnapped North Carolina teen found alive in Arkansas; kidnapping suspect dies after gun battle with police

A 14-year-old missing North Carolina girl has been found alive and safe in Arkansas as a police officer was hospitalized in a stable condition Sunday after he was confronted during a confrontation in a McDonald’s restaurant with the man who allegedly raped her. abducted on February 11, was shot. according to reports.

William Robert Ice, 38, of Jackson Center, Pennsylvania, died after fleeing a self-inflicted wound after fleeing government, according to Arkansas State Police. The kidnapped teenager Savannah Grace Childress fled the vehicle and was secured by a state troop.

A couple of police officers in Lonoke, Arkansas, confronted Ice, the driver of a sports utility vehicle that was parked at the fast food restaurant on Saturday night, after the vehicle was linked to the child abduction case in North Carolina.

The driver started shooting at the officers when he went out with the SUV. One officer was hit while the other one who was not injured was shot back when Ice re-entered the vehicle and fled, according to state police.

A Arkansas trooper spotted the SUV and chased it until the vehicle crashed into a snow bank.

Inside the SUV, a soldier found Ice who was critically injured as a result of a gunshot wound that was self-inflicted. Ice later died at Little Rock Hospital.

The Arkansas state police, who are investigating with the deputy sheriff’s deputies in Davidson County, North Carolina, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, have determined that the girl was abducted.

According to Arkansas police, Ice has also been searched by law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania in connection with other predators.

“His body has been submitted to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of death,” Arkansas police said in a statement. “The injured Lonoke police officer is in a stable condition at a Little Rock hospital.”

The sheriff’s office in Davidson County said that “without the cooperation of all law enforcement agencies involved, the outcome of this case could have been very different.”
