Kid Rock connects 6 figures to Barstool Sports Fund for Small Business

Kid Rock announced in a tweet Monday that it will commit $ 100,000 to Barstool Sports’ fund to support small businesses affected by coronavirus-related restrictions.

“THIS IS THE AMERICA I LOVE!”, Writes the singer-songwriter. “Put me down for 100,000. And I’m just putting it in the hope that others can be moved as blessed as I am to help.”

The contribution of the celebrity appears to be the second largest donation to date to the fund, behind that of David Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports.

Portnoy announced the initiative last month and promised to contribute $ 500,000 of his own money to the cause.

To qualify, businesses must keep an active payroll. The Barstool Fund will help small businesses pay the costs they have to stay afloat until the pandemic is over.

“Hopefully we can save as many small businesses as possible if humanly possible,” Portnoy said in a video message.
