Keylor Navas and Costa Rica teammates accused of deliberately losing games

Ma defamation hearing was held on 15 March in which former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Keylor, Bryan Ruiz and Celso Borges brought an action against the former directors of the Costa Rican Football Federation – FECODA.

The players are accused of deliberately planning to lose matches to force the dismissal of former coach Jorge Luis Pinto.

Former FECODA President Eduardo Li appeared at the trial and explained it Luis Pinto had a clause in his contract that could have him sacked if he lost three games in a row.

“The players knew about the clause,” Li said. “Keylor Navas was the one who said ‘let’s lose the three games’. ‘

Rafael Vargas also accused the players of wanting to see Luis Pinto sacked.

Jose Luis Pinto himself will appear at the trial on March 16.
