It was a clash between the titans on Twitter: Kevin Sorbo and Lucy Lawless dropped Wednesday’s riots at the U.S. Capitol, where supporters of President Trump forced the building, inflicted damage and hid lawmakers and staff members.
The stars of the nineties show ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’ and its brand new ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’ can no longer differ on social media. He is a Republican who supports Trump; her bio includes calls for clean energy and calls to Black Lives Matter and the LGBTQ community.
On Wednesday afternoon, Sorbo tweeted again a photo of some of the people who swarmed the Capitol with the caption: ‘Does it look like Trump supporters? Or left-wing agitators disguised as Trump supporters … ”The actor added his own thoughts:“ They do not look like patriots to me … ”
The image he shared included the shirtless, self-identified ‘QAnon shaman’ in a Viking hat, Jake Angeli of Arizona, who was identified as a contender at right-wing political events in his homeland.
Lawless showed up in the answer line Thursday morning with a message for her former costar.
‘No, Peanut. They are not Patriots. These are your flying monkeys, homemade terrorists, actors from QAnon. These are the shower bags that go out and offer the evil of people like you who like to whip it up like toys and let them do their worst. #keepingYourFilthyHandsclean #enabler, ”she wrote.
Sorbo did not respond to her.
The brief exchange took place after tweets earlier in the day, where Sorbo advised those storming the Capitol to be: “Be careful, do not act like ANTIFA. Respect the police and know that they are mostly on our side, they are simply trying to do their job. Less than an hour later, he said: “ANTIFA led the complaint to the capital building, dressed as Trump supporters.”
That conspiracy theory has since been downplayed as more people are identified in the mob.
As of Friday, more than 80 people have been arrested in connection with the riot in the Capitol, mostly for violating the 18:00 evening clock that was placed in Washington, DC on Wednesday. However, more than a dozen have been charged with federal crimes, including one that prosecutors said was arrested near the Capitol building with a semi-automatic rifle and 11 Molotov cocktails.
“Were there Trump supporters up there? Absolutely. But they do not understand what it means to be a patriot, ‘Kimberly Fletcher, founder and president of National Nonprofit Mothers for America, told The Times in a story published Friday. ‘It was not the majority of the people who were there. It was just a minority that was stupid. ”
Lawless, meanwhile, has more important things to worry about.

Sorbo also resumed business, moving his message from the riots to the pandemic lockout on Friday morning.
