Kevin McCarthy defends Dr. Seuss with dramatic ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ reading

He will read Seuss here or there, he will read it everywhere.

Home Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is adapting warriors with cancellation culture with an in-depth reading of Dr. Seuss’ classic “Green Eggs and Ham” on Twitter.

“I still like Dr. Seuss, which is why I decided to read Green Eggs and Ham,” the California Republican wrote Friday night, which encourages viewers to “RT if you still like him!”

The message is accompanied by a five-minute video by McCarthy that solemnly presents the beloved book and its loopy rhyming story of Sam-I-am and his distasteful culinary creation.

It comes just days after the news that six of Seuss’s best-selling children’s books will no longer be published due to their racism.

The sales of the six books – “When I Run the Zoo”, “And To Think I Saw It In Mulberry Street,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!”, “Scrambled Eggs Super!” and ‘The Cat’s Quizzer’ – skyrocketed after the announcement, and online auction site eBay canceled sales of vintage copies after selling for hundreds of dollars apiece.

On Saturday morning, fans of Seuss McCarthy’s video took to Twitter 2.6 million times – and nearly 10,000 retweets.
