Kevin James did not weigh in on the new AMC series Kevin can fuck himself… until now.
In November 2018, it was first reported that AMC was developing the drama drama, just months after CBS pulled the plug on James’ sitcom. Kevin can wait. As announced, Kevin can wait between Seasons 1 and 2 underwent a major overhaul, releasing the original cast Erinn Hayes. She was replaced by James’ former King of Queens Costar Leah Remini, which led to a sharp drop in ratings and the rapid cancellation of the series.
(Neither AMC nor the manufacturers of Kevin can fuck himself explicitly stated that the series plays a major role in James’ sitcom.)
Kevin can fuck himself, which is expected to debut on AMC later this year, is told from the point of view of a sitcom woman (played by Schitt’s Creek actor Annie Murphy), and alternates between single-camera realism and multi-camera comedy.
When James asked him about the title, it really looked like it was tickling. “I think if they can use me to make their show, and it’s a great show, God bless them,” he said. “Good for them.”
Kevin can fuck himself, which will consist of eight hour-long episodes, was created by Valerie Armstrong (Lodge 49) and executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. Craig DiGregorio (Shrill, Workaholics) will serve as a showcase runner.
James can meanwhile be seen next opposite Bridgertonwith Freddie Stroma on Netflix The crew, a new sitcom set in the world of NASCAR. All 10 episodes fall Monday, February 15; watch the trailer here.
