Jaleel White, a sitcom star of his own Family business, moderates the press conference. White has worked with Shakman in the past. He represents the panel. White starts with Olsen and asks about the work in front of a live audience.

“It was the first thing we shot. It was so nerve-wracking and there was a lot of adrenaline, a lot of rapid changes, and it completely confused my brain,” she said. “I was very grateful when we added the fourth wall!” It took her a minute to understand how not to act for the audience, but to feed their energy. “I think it was a merger of Mary Tyler Moore and Elizabeth Montgomery and I threw Lucy in the ’70s because there was a bit of physical comedy.”

What keeps Vision honest at all times?

“He’s always been something else. He’s JARVIS, he’s part of Ultron, he’s part of Tony Stark. He’s omnipotent,” Bettany says. “He’s so naive …. I realized I’ll just throw a little Dick van Dyke there, a little Hugh Laurie … I think what Vision is, is just decent and honorable and exists for Wanda . ” Vision needs ‘lots of wigs’ to blend in with the community. ‘

Has Hahn ever had a curious neighbor like her character?

“We did have a neighbor who was a lot like this, and that would come out unannounced,” Hahn says.

He asks Parris about Monica Rambeau as a character.

“Basically, in WandaVision, we catch up with who she is now as a mature woman. “Throughout the show, we found a wig she was wearing, which happened to her,” Rambeau said. “We’ll see Monica join Carol Danvers, captain Marvel and me. Captain Marvel 2! ”

Shakman explained how the production design, the performances, the laughter tracks, the dialect coaches and more took into account everything to bring together different periods of sitcoms. “It’s going crazy, I do not want to ruin it for anyone, but we’m taking a turn,” says Shakman about the eras that have yet to come after three deliveries.

White asks author Shaeffer about Wanda and Vision’s previous relationship and how WandaVision promotes it.

“Wanda and Vision are a favorite for fans as a couple,” Shaeffer said. “Their love story was so tragic, but very warm and intimate. We saw them in these stolen moments in the MCU … what we have WandaVision… are we opening the stage and space for them, and they are in this domestic sphere? We see how they were washing dishes in the kitchen … all these household items that you would never see a superhero participate in. We are going to go from these enormous moments in the MCU and beyond in WandaVision it’s very cute, cute, until it’s not.

How did she write the dialect?

“It was like doing an accent or a period,” she says. “In the early years, it was really a research thing … When we moved forward, the sitcoms of the 80s, it just burned into my real DNA, it wasn’t that much of a challenge.”

Will there be more Marvel sitcoms?

“We’ll see. It was our test run,” Feige said. “Marvel has had a lot of successful TVs in the past. It was the first time for Marvel Studios,” he continues, noting that this is the cast from movies. “The idea has always been, yes, to do something that can not be done as a function that plays with the format and plays with the medium. There were many meetings before everyone understood what we were trying to … able to turn a crazy idea into a hectic show … It worked out well that it’s Disney +’s debut for the MCU. ‘

Press Qs

How did they get to know physical movements from different decades best and how does it develop ??

“There’s a lot more slapstick and physical comedy early on,” Bettany said. “Luckily, when we got into the ’90s, they all made me look so ridiculous that I really didn’t have to work so hard to laugh.”

“The way women move through the decades changes so much when it comes to what society wants from them,” Olsen says. “Jac wrote in quite a few nods how it evolved, during the sixties, she gets a pair of pants that would suit how someone moves through space … manners were a big part of every decade. We would get it book that depicts manners at the time. ‘She notes that this is not a real sitcom, but a world where they act as if it were a real sitcom.

Was there any hesitation to start MCU Phase 4 with WandaVision, given how different it is? Are Marvel fans more open to risks?

“I hope it says, ‘Get ready for the new and the other,'” Feige said. “Certainly, with the Disney + events, it has enabled us to creatively expand what we do. [TFATWS] would debut for the first time last year, followed by very soon WandaVision. Creatively, it did not re-storm. ‘It does not have to be shaken at all in terms of the creative … As usual the bait when you throw a ball, the unexpected MAavel Studios often served well, and in this case we are well served, because this program is our first one, I love how fat it is … We have things you will only be able to see in theaters … it is seen on television many week after week, which is very different for us. ‘

They have a plan to shuffle things, but “I’m not saying we were prepared for a global pandemic, we were not.”

“It’s going into a kind of twilight zone,” Shakman said. “This is how we approached its shooting and its appearance.”

“Twilight Zone is personally a huge influence on me,” Shaeffer said. “It was so incredibly deft on that turn. You think you’re in one thing and then it’s suddenly turned on its head. We were all incredibly delighted about it. There are currently a lot of current shows, prestige series, where you’re watching. ‘ a few episodes and you think the program is one thing, and then it is flipped by episode 4 or 5.

Insight into HYDRA or MCU in ads?

“Advertising was an early idea for that,” Feige said of how the real world in the sitcom would leak everything. “If this is the very first thing Marvel, MCU is watching, it’s just a weird version of an ad from the ’50s or’ 60s. If you’ve watched all those movies, you might start connecting to all those things. means from the past. ‘

How did the cast Kathryn Hahn originate?

“In my memory, it all happened quickly,” Feige said. How did the events of the MCU shape Monica and Agness’ lives?

“They definitely went through a few things and saw some things,” Parris says. “We actually learn, especially, what the things Monica saw and went through and how it shaped her life. I don’t want to give away too much, because we’ll touch a lot of it if we go through the show.

“There’s always that person pulling through the doors and sitting on the couch, but their personal life, you never learn anything about it,” Hahn says. “In the classic way, I was able to walk in it while Agness saw all the beautiful tropics behind me just to build on.”

Where does phase 4 end? Feige declined to comment.
