Kenyan Drake aims for first shot at free agency

USA TODAY Sports

Last year, the Cardinals chose to use the transition marker to keep the Kenyan Dragons in the team. He signed the one-year tender and became a second contract year.

He performed well, scoring 955 rushing yards in 15 games, adding 137 receiving yards and scoring 10 touchdowns.

This year, the Cardinals did not tag him. They also did not sign him again. He is probably on his way to the open market.

Arizona traded for the Drake, which won the game for the Dolphins, in the 2018 Miami Miracle game during the 2019 season. He acquired 643 rushing yards in eight games with the Cardinals that year, totaling 174 yards.

It looks like the Cardinals are ready to make Chase Edmonds the best full-back. Oddsmakers have the Cardinals in a mix to tackle Aaron Jones’ striker for the Packers.

So it looks like Drake will end up in the open market. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and what he gets.
