Kentucky Basketball: John Calipari fires shots at fans and media after loss to Georgia Bulldogs

Tonight we saw for the first time something we had not really seen in the last twelve years of the John Calipari era, an insanely frustrated press conference.

It looks like it’s a magician sitting behind a microphone, it’s like the skill has completely disappeared.

After losing a final second to the Georgia Bulldogs, Calipari has left a bit of steam in the post-season interviews he can regret.

Fans across the Bluegrass have been voicing their thoughts and opinions this season. Well folks, Cal heard them and at least made it sound like it was getting under his skin.

The first part of this quote is the most interesting part. One can only imagine that he was referring to the big change that all the fan base needed, and that was to take BJ Boston out of the starting lineup. But whatever he’s referring to, it doesn ‘t seem to be okay with him.

It’s no secret that it was probably one of the worst coaching years Calipari has had through his Hall of Fame career.

Should some of them be blamed for the restrictions that COVID-19 has placed on the season and off-season? Absolutely.

Did he have trouble figuring out the adjustments he needs to make to fix this team? For sure.

There hasn’t been a great look for Cal yet this season, but calling out the fans and media will certainly not help to put everyone together.

“You can see my frustration right now, but I’m the coach, and I have a job to do, and I have to find ways to win games.”

We can only hope he finds a way because things got pretty dark at an incredible pace for the Kentucky Wildcats.
