Langone, who voted for Trump in 2016 and gave him credit for improving the economy, said the president had ‘exhausted everything’ when he wanted to reverse the outcome of the 2020 election. “Biden is the president,” Langone said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
“Last Wednesday was a disgrace and should never have happened in this country. If it does not break every American’s heart, something is wrong,” Langone said, referring to the siege of the Capitol. “It breaks my heart. I did not sign up for it.”
The billionaire said he will focus on supporting Biden in any way he can.
“I’m going to do everything from day one to make sure I do my part to make Joe Biden the most successful president in the country’s history,” he said. “If he’s a good, successful president, we’ll all win.”
Langone said the country was facing ‘major problems’, citing the pandemic, rising debt, crumbling infrastructure and an underfunded public school system.
“It is the American people who are using Trump as a sign to express their anger and disgust at the system,” he said.
