KDE -

KDE developer Nate Graham, who has made many contributions to KDE over the past few years and is known for his weekly KDE development summaries, has published a 2021 roadmap for the year.

Based on the fact that he was involved in all things KDE, Nate has published a New Year’s Day Roadmap looking at the potential achievements of this year’s desktop environment.

Among the 2021 items on the roadmap are a “production-ready” Plasma Wayland session, fingerprint support throughout the KDE stack, completion of the Breeze Evolution icon work, a replacement for the Kickoff application launcher, and support for the re-flowing text within the Console terminal emulator when resizing it.

Nate’s 2021 predictions / roadmap for KDE can be found via his blog.

On his roadmap for last year were items such as enhanced Samba shares in the Dolphin file manager, automatic rotation for tablets, better backgrounds, X11 scale factors per screen and other items mostly addressed during the calendar year.
