Kate Middleton has been “killed” over sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s claim that the Duchess of Cambridge made her cry – and it’s not even clear what exactly happened, says a royal expert.
Markle claims during her explosive TV sit-up with Oprah Winfrey last week that Middleton reduced her to tears over the flower girl dresses that Markle chose for her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
Middleton was horrified that Markle publicly said she was crying because Kate never wanted a proposal of a breakup with Meghan in the press, ‘Royal Writer Katie Nicholl told OK! magazine.
‘Kate is so strategic and respects her personal life. “You never hear that she has fallen out with anyone, because she is very careful about treating others,” Nicholl said.
‘So it’s very difficult to spread this story.
‘Feel Kate [the incident] it was all sorted, so it was murderous to educate it again. ”
To make matters worse, Meghan and Harry know that Middleton is “unable to respond” to the claim – which has not been publicly confirmed by anyone else, the Buckingham Palace expert added.
“From what I hear, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the ones Meghan discussed,” Nicholl said.
Markle claimed to Oprah that while stories in the press portrayed her as the villain at the time, saying she made Middleton cry, the “reverse” happened.
The two duchesses looked a little over Markle’s flower girl dresses, “and it made me cry, and it hurt my feelings,” Meghan said.
‘It was a very difficult week of the wedding and [Middleton] was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note, ‘Markle added.
The Duchess of Sussex and husband Harry dropped other bombshells, including that an unnamed royal made a racist remark to the prince asking how dark their son Archie’s skin would be, as Markle’s mother is black.
Harry also claims that his brother, Kate’s husband, Prince William, their father, Prince Charles, and grandmother Queen Elizabeth II were all “trapped” by their royal life and that his relationships with his brother and sister were difficult.
Nicholl said Middleton behind closed doors was ‘sad, disappointed and hurt’ over the couple’s comments.
Kate and William feel very welcome with Meghan and Harry. Any accusations against the monarchy are accusations against their family. It is hurtful and they feel disappointed, “said the expert. ‘Obviously they still love Harry and Meghan, but this interview has built feathers.
“William is not relieved with his brother,” Nicholl added. ‘He, Charles and the Queen had crisis talks in the days after the interview on how to proceed.
“It is well documented that the brothers took steps to reconcile their unanimous bond, but sources claim that William believed the Oprah interview was the last straw.”
Yet, “despite the anger, they both want to resolve this feud,” she said.
