Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West live separately and in couple counseling after six years of marriage, a source close to the family confirmed today
The two have four children together, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2 and Psalm, 1. The source said the couple have been living separately for the past few months, with West in Wyoming and Kardashian West and the children in Calabasas , California.
The news of their separation comes after several months of public signs of splintering between the two celebrities.
Over the course of the summer, West announced a failed bid for president, delivered a tearful monologue at a political rally on abortion topics to Harriet Tubman and said in a series of tweets that his wife wanted him admitted to hospital .
“Kim tried to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like in the movie Get Out, because I cried over my daughter’s life yesterday,” he said. wrote at that point.
West later said on Twitter that he was trying to divorce Kardashian West after she met rapper Meek Mill to discuss prison reform. “My husband is gentle and respectful,” he wrote in a tweet that has now been removed. “This is my dog that Kim was out of line.”
It is unclear to which meeting West referred. Many of his followers interpret his tweet as an accusation of infidelity. Meek Mill, whose legal name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, seems to respond in a short tweet.
After the summer incident, Kardashian West spoke out about West’s behavior in a statement about his bipolar disorder.
“As many of you know, Kanye has a bipolar disorder,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “Anyone who has this person or a loved one in their life knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.
“Those who understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience may be judgmental and do not understand that the individual must participate in the process of getting help, no matter how hard family and friends try. ‘
The two did take a family vacation to the Dominican Republic in late 2020, and West also attended Kardashian West’s much-discussed 40th birthday trip.
For the past few weeks, however, West has not been on Kardashian West’s social media accounts. He was not seen in photos of a recent trip to Lake Tahoe and was also not in her Christmas post.
The two did counseling today, the source said TODAY and is “100% in line with the children.” The source said the couple is dealing with ‘frequent issues about the relationship’ and there is ‘no one else involved’.
Kanye loves his extended family. They are very close. They go to therapy. They are working on their marriage, ”the source said.

The couple dated for two years before marrying in Italy in May 2014. She remembered on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2017 that they first met in 2003.
This is West’s first marriage and third for Kardashian West, who was previously married to basketball player Kris Humphries and music producer Damon Thomas.
