Kansas City Royals trade OR Mike Heath to Arizona Diamondbacks for minor league pitcher

KANSAS CITY, Ma. The Kansas City Royals on Saturday traded outside player Nick Heath, who was named earlier this week, to the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor pitcher Eduardo Herrera.

The 27-year-old Heath, a lightning-fast batsman, has been on the verge of making the Royals’ major league club for the past few years. He finally made his debut last year and appeared in 15 games in the shortened season for Kansas City.

With an abundance of outside players, however, the Royals decided to swap Heath for extra depth.

The 21-year-old Herrera signed with Arizona as an international free agent in 2016. He started his career as a catcher and striker, but switched to pitching with a promising result two years ago. He has to move even further than class A.
