If Kaley Cuoco were to ask her mother, “What will I be?” as a child Mrs Cuoco could have made a turn and guessed “the star of a Doris Day biopic series”, but if ‘Que Sera, Sera’ had taught us something, it is not to advance ourselves. According to Entertainment weekly, the Air hostess star will soon play the late film legend in an upcoming limited edition of Warner Bros. Television, produced by Bert Berlanti Productions of Greg Berlant and Yes, Norman Productions of Cuoco, who acquired the rights to the late actress’ official biography. Doris Day: Her Own Story by AE Hotchner.

No word yet on the specific time frame or focus of the limited series, but Day was one of the greatest film actresses of the 1950s and 1960s, and had a musical career just as impressive. She has appeared in films such as Calamity Jane, The excitement of it all, Love me or leave me, en Pillow talk, for which she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress. In addition to starring in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1956 film The man who knew too much Opposite Jimmy Stewart, Day sang two of the film’s songs, including ‘Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)’, which won the Oscar for Best Original Song. The tune would become one of Day’s distinctive hits.

Married four times and mother to son Terry Melcher, Day becomes an animal welfare activist and creates the Doris Day Animal Foundation before her death on May 13, 2019 at the age of 97.
