Kaiser, Hawaii Pacific Health, Walmart Offering COVID Vaccine Appointments

Are you still trying to make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine?

Kaiser Permanente and Hawaii Pacific Health, among others, are making appointments, while Walmart is expected to start making appointments next week.

Kaiser has another vaccination in COVID-19 available today until Saturday at the Kapolei Consolidated Theater location.

Kaiser announced Wednesday that it has nearly 2,000 vaccination appointments available today through Saturday. Those interested do not have to be Kaiser Permanent members to get the vaccine.

“We are continuing to gradually increase the availability of appointments,” Kaiser said in a news release. “We are prioritizing the 50-year-old and older now before the opening of Phase 2 on Monday.”

This Monday, Oahu will be eligible for vaccination for all residents aged 16 and older to meet a presidential mandate, and appointments for this category are also available for next week.

Walmart said it will begin offering Moderna vaccines at its Walmart pharmacies from next week, along with some Sam’s Club pharmacies.

Appointments will open on a seven-day basis, according to a Walmart spokesman, as vaccines are awarded. New appointments will also be added every day.

Among the locations where the vaccine will be offered are Walmart stores in Honolulu, Waipahu, Pearl City and Kapolei on Oahu; Lihue on Kauai; Kahului on Maui; and Hilo and Kona on the island of Hawaii. Sam’s Clubs in Honolulu and Pearl City are also listed.

Hawaii Pacific Health, meanwhile, announced today that 6,700 appointments for the Pfizer vaccine are available for next week at Pier 2.

Oahu residents 16 years and older can schedule an appointment for the Pier 2 location at HawaiiPacificHealth.org/COVID19Vaccine.

Minors aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, Hawaii Pacific Health said.

Kaiser, which operates several vaccination centers across Hawaii, partnered with Consolidated Theaters last month to open a mass vaccination center at Kamokila Blvd 890.

So far, Kaiser has said he has administered more than 84,000 doses of vaccine. Today, Hawaii reaches a milestone in the administration of COVID-19 vaccines in the state – more than 1 million doses administered by state and federal programs.

Kaiser says the best way to schedule an appointment is online, because the volume of the call center is high and can wait longer than usual.

KP members registered on kp.org only need to complete an e-visit. KP members who are not yet registered can do so by visiting kp.org/register. Those who are not KP members should visit kp.org/covidvaccine.

Kaiser asks that those who already have an appointment later in the month should cancel it first before making an appointment again.
