Justin Fields may not have played for Urban Meyer in the state of Ohio … but the former Buckeyes star says he has no doubt the coach will succeed in Jacksonville.
The quarterback just hit LAX in LA this week … and when we asked him about the Jags’ newest captain, the 21-year-old had nothing but praise for the coach.
‘Coach [Ryan] Day recruited me [to Ohio State] but I mean I’ve heard good things about coach Meyer and the way he coaches, ‘said Field.
“So I would not be surprised if he had a great success in Jacksonville.”
Of course there’s a chance Fields could play for Urban next season … Justin just explained for the concept and Meyer has the best overall choice.
Most believe Urban will take Clemson star, Trevor Lawrence, about Fields … but when we asked Justin if he believed he was the better prospect, he apparently thought so.
“I’m not going to do what I think makes me better because I do not want to cause any controversy,” Fields says. “But of course you have confidence that you are the best player in the country.”
As for Fields’ draft day plans in the pandemic … Justin tells us that the party will have to be undecided this year – even if Meyer finally sets him up overall.
