Justin Bieber shocked his fans by dropping a surprising Gospel EP on Easter Sunday titled “Freedom”.
The celebrity turned the holiday on social media for a very blunt announcement in which he simply shared the word “Freedom” typed on an iPhone notes background. with a caption it reads: “Freedom on all platforms.”
The EP, which features collaborations with artists such as Beam, Brandon Love, Chandler Moore, Pink Sweats, Judah Smith, Tori Kelly and Lauren Walters, contains a total of six tracks, each with a gospel theme.

The day of announcement was surprising enough, but it was also surprising that some fans came close to the fact that Bieber’s sixth studio album “Justice” was released. As the album climbed to the top of several U.S. charts, Bieber has been teasing new music along the way for the past few weeks with several social media posts showing him in the studio. However, no one expected anything new to come quickly, especially as “Justice” continues its momentum.

Bieber recently reacted to controversy surrounding the new album because it contains an interlude in which the sound of Martin Luther King jr. In 1967 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Because they were Canadian … they did not teach us about black history. It was just not part of our education system,” the musician told Kristal Terrell, co-founder of Bieber Nation, via the Clubhouse app (via Billboard) explained.

“I want to keep growing and learning about just all the social injustices and what it looks like for me to be better, what it looks like for my friends to be better,” the ‘Yummy’ singer continued. “And I know I still have a long way to go. I like that when people listen to my album, these conversations are coming, and it’s like, ‘Well, how’s he going from Martin Luther King to’? a love song? ”

Bieber concluded: “I’m not trying to make a connection between me and Martin Luther King. That’s why I never try to talk about social injustice, or I do not want to be the one talking about it because I have just so much learn more to do. ‘
