Just over half of U.S. adults have now received at least one dose of COVID-19, data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed Sunday. Nearly 130 million people aged 18 or older got their first shot.

According to the CDC, it makes up about 50.4% of the total adult U.S. population. This is a milestone for the country that has seen more than 560,000 deaths due to the pandemic, the highest for any country as the government rates vaccination.

The CDC said Sunday that the United States has administered 209,406,814 doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the country and distributed 264,505,725 doses.

These figures are higher than the 205,871,913 doses issued on April 17 at 264,499,715 doses, according to the CDC.

According to the agency, 131,247,546 people received at least one dose, while 84,263,408 people were fully vaccinated as of Sunday.

The CDC contains two-dose vaccines from Moderna Inc (MRNA.O) and Pfizer Inc / BioNTech (PFE.N), <22UAy.DE>, as well as Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N)’s one-shot vaccine, from 6 p.m. EDT (1000 GMT) on Sunday.

U.S. federal health agencies on Tuesday recommended suspending the use of J & J’s COVID-19 vaccine for several days after six women under the age of 50 developed rare blood clots after receiving the shot.

A total of 7,779,273 vaccine doses were administered in long-term care facilities, the agency said.
