Square Enix has announced that it will be bringing the Just Cause series to Android with the release of a free to play shooter titled Just Cause: Mobile. The game is slated for a release in 2021, though it will not be handled by Avalanche Studios (the developers behind the console and computer games), but will be developed by a new team led by Square Enix.

You can see the trailer of the announcement directly above, and as you can see, this shooter offers an isometric view while on the road to success. Staples in the range, such as your grab hook, make an appearance, as well as skydiving from planes and ledges. Fans can expect a story campaign, as well as competitive multiplayer and 4-player collaborative missions for 30 people. The game is built on Unreal Engine 4 and of course offers touch controls.

Since Just Cause: Mobile can be played for free, Square has been so kind as to confirm that purchases will be included in the app. Square also pointed out that the company will not be abandoning the main console and computer range, making it clear that Square understands that part of its audience hates F2P mobile games. However, the company is still going to release this title, despite the poor reception that will be guaranteed with the announcement, and it excites my feeling that Just Cause: Mobile is likely to exist as a cash grab.

Still, I’m sure more than a few people will be eager to get their hands on Just Cause: Mobile, but this is a new announcement where the details are still light, but we will all have to wait for further information such as development progress. Until then, feel free to visit the official website where you can sign up to receive updates and news about the game in your email.

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Just Cause Mobile

Square Enix decided to start throwing events similar to Nintendo’s Directs, so today was the first Square Enix Presents. During this event, Square released a new movie preview for the upcoming mobile version of Just Cause, which you can see above.

Oddly enough, this trailer does not reveal much about the game, as it is a movie, so we are basically at the same point as in December when Square first announced Just Cause Mobile. You would think that the studio would have something to show after four months, especially since the game is supposed to appear this year. So we hope Square finally gets the courage to show us what the game looks like in action before it’s released. Until then, enjoy the second movie for Just Cause Mobile.
