The Junta de Control Fiscal will conclude its pilot program with 10 municipalities as of June 30, announced today, four days, the federal organization.

This program proposes an important vision regarding the range of financial problems that surround the municipalities and the systemic challenges that are deeply set up that need to be addressed in order to achieve fiscal sustainability, given the expression in a communication.

The recommendation:

“The pilot program confirms that the current structure of the Municipal financial system is inadequate due to the many challenges that afflict Puerto Rico”, said the President of the Junta, David Skeel, written statements.

“The Junta de Supervisión creates that the current municipal financial system must change in order for the municipalities to have tax liability,” he concluded.
