Jujutsu Kaisen translator arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography

According to a new crime report, one translator of Jujutsu Kaisen was arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. Stefaan Koza was picked up by Herndon police in Virginia. The 33-year-old suspect is charged with five counts of possession and five counts of distribution.

Currently Koza is. is being held without charge at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Police said they conducted the arrest along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. Koza is expected to be tried in early March 2021.

Koza is best known as a manga translator in the fandom, and he also uses aliases like Steady and Steady Studios for his online projects. Koza started translating recently Jujutsu Kaisen for Viz Media, but the suspect also does English translations for other titles such as Tokyo Shinobi Group, We Never Learn, and more.

At the moment, Viz Media has not commented on the situation.

For fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, this update does come as a surprise, but creator Gege Akutami has absolutely no part in this ordeal. The Japanese creator has been completely removed from his manga’s translation efforts. Akutami has started publishing Jujutsu Kaisen back in March 2018, and it became popular due to the release of its anime. The first season of the show has completed its debut arc and will begin adapting for the second time in light of the new year.
