The reaction of JuJu Smith-Schuster, a wide receiver from Steelers, to a question about whether the Browns team this year differs from recent years, took a lot of note last week.

Smith-Schuster said he thinks ‘they’re still the same Browns teams I play every year’ and that they have good players, but ‘the Browns are the Browns’ when all is said and done. The comments were not received with smiles from Browns players like Baker Mayfield and Myles Garrett on Sunday night.

They each used them as feed for motivational videos before a 48-37 Browns victory that ended the Steelers season and made a convincing argument that they are not the same Browns. Browns players ran off the field and shouted, “The Browns are the Browns,” referring to Smith-Schuster in the post-match commentary.

“You know, I do not regret what I said. I said the Browns are the Browns, “Smith-Schuster said during his press conference. ‘They came out and they played a hell of a game. You know, there were games where we felt we were losing it, and today was not our night, and hopefully the same Browns will show up next week against the same opponent and do the same thing they did tonight and a hell of a game. ”

This is not the first time that Smith-Schuster’s actions have been cited as motivating by opponents. His dance on the midfield’s logos angered the Bills and Bengals before he regularly lost the club clubs. Sunday’s loss puts the free agency on the right track and the Steelers will have to decide whether the positives outweigh the negatives he brings to the table.
