Judge rejects lawsuit by Trump supporters winning Joe Biden

A federal appeals court has filed a lawsuit by a group of Republicans in a last-ditch effort to challenge the election of President Joe Biden.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Court on Saturday upheld the lower court’s decision in a lawsuit filed by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and a group of Arizona fans in hand.

Gohmert and his allies tried to empower Vice President Mike Pence to reject the outcome of the election college when he oversees a congressional session on Wednesday.

Lawmakers have sued Pence – a fact that even his lawyers conceded was bizarre.

“The vice president – the only accused in this case – is, ironically, the person whose power they want to advance,” a Justice Department lawyer representing Pence wrote, according to a report in The Hill.

A lawsuit against the vice president is a lawsuit against a case to establish that the vice president has a discretion over the score.

The district judge who filed the case Friday found that Gohmert and the other plaintiffs could not prove that they were harmed by Pence’s role.

The three-judge appellate court panel – consisting of two Ronald Reagan-appointed Republicans and another Trump-appointed – largely agrees.
