After the Titans were out of the playoffs, head coach Mike Vrabel held a press conference at the end of the season with a question about the future of Isaiah Wilson’s first round in 2020.
Wilson played four snaps during a rookie season with a DUI arrest, a suspension for violating team rules, two Tests on the COVID-19 reserve list and a season ending on the non-soccer roster to tackle personal problems work. Vrabel said he could not begin answering the question about Wilson, and general manager Jon Robinson’s response Tuesday to a similar query did not do much to shed light on matters with Wilson.
Robinson said he had not spoken to Wilson since being placed on the NFI list, but others did, and that “a lot of work” needs to be done to get Wilson back on the team. He added that the Wilson who reported to the team was very different from the player they selected before the draft, and that they have a standard for players that Wilson could not reach.
“He will have to be determined if he wants to do everything necessary to play pro football. It will be on him, “said Robinson.
Robinson talked about the need to have a better off-season this year than in 2020 and getting more out of their best draft pick would be a great way to start.
