JoJo Siwa shares more about her personal life after appearing on social media last month as a member of the LGBTQ + community.
The 17-year-old artist was a guest The Tonight Show on Wednesday, February 3, where she told the host Jimmy Fallon that she is currently in a long distance relationship with “the most wonderful, most wonderful, most perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world.” The star did not identify her partner by name.
JoJo began by explaining the origins of the January 20 TikTok video and her lip-syncing with the “Now You’re One of Us” line from Paramore‘s song “Isn’t it nice.” Members of the Pride House, a collection of LGBTQ + TikTok creators, accompany her in the track that sparked speculation that it might be JoJo’s way of getting out.
“They’re coming, and we’re doing this TikTok, and I was like, ‘I think this TikTok we’re doing’ Isn’t it nice, ‘I think it’s going to come out to me,” she said. “And I was like, I do not really care, because it’s true, I have the most wonderful, most wonderful, most perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world. It’s not something I’m ashamed of, I just did not have the “Of course there have always been speculations, but I was like I think it’s going to work out for me.”

Sure enough, fans quickly had questions about the meaning behind the video, so she decided to have some fun before confirming that she was indeed coming out. Over the next few days, she posted a TikTok of her dance lady Gaga“Born This Way”, followed by a photo JoJo took a week before of her “Best Gay Cousin Ever” T-shirt.
It was while JoJo was talking to her friend by phone that they both decided to post the T-shirt photo, and even the publicity of the star was not aware in advance that this would happen.
“We were both like, ‘Technically, I haven’t confirmed it yet,'” the In mammas alum remembers the conversation with her friend. And I was like, ‘I just want to put this picture on my Reels story,’ and she was very encouraging. She was like, ‘Do it! “And I was like, ‘OK,’ and I did. ‘
JoJo said that two days after sharing this photo, she told her friend by telephone that it was starting to sink in how potentially risky this moment could be for her career.
“I was like, ‘Well, technically, it was a very big risk that I would post it,'” she shared. “But if I have lost everything I created because I was myself and because I loved whom I want to love, I do not want it. It’s not what I want if I can not love whom I want to love. “That’s one of the most important things to me.”
She added that just ten minutes before she appeared, she was crying tears of joy The Tonight Show. “I’m just so happy because now I can share what makes me the happiest with the world, and it makes my heart so happy,” JoJo explained.
The star has revealed that she is currently in Vancouver to film an upcoming Nickelodeon musical The J Show which focuses on her life and on the idea of staying true to yourself. The soundtrack features six original songs, along with two of her previously recorded songs.
