Johnson & Johnson has applied for these juveniles on behalf of the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA, by its seal in English) which approves its single dose vaccine against covid-19 for emergency use. The pharmaceutical has announced that in the coming weeks it will also apply for approval before the European Sanitary Authorities. FDA officials announced that external experts will discuss the vaccine at a public meeting on February 26.

Solicitation is a “fundamental step in reducing the burden on people throughout the world and ending the pandemic,” said Dr. Paul Stoffels, Johnson & Johnson’s Scientific Director, in a statement. If the vaccine receives the FDA’s regulatory approval, the third authorized vaccine will be issued in the United States, a necessary step to record the annual vaccination. In addition, only a dose is required, which has the potential to maintain a freezing temperature and no congestion.

The pharmaceutical giant’s demand for information last week revealed that its vacancy had a 66% efficiency in the three regions where the vacancy was studied: United States, Latin America and South Africa. There is an 85% increase in the prevention of serious forms of illness; after 28 days, none of the participants had to be hospitalized.

The report reveals that the case of countermeasures against moderate and severe illnesses is 72% in the United States, but only 57% in South Africa, whereas a highly contagious variant of coronavirus is provoking the majority of cases. The company insures that it expects to add the 100 million doses that will be promised to the United States by the end of June. Approximately 30 million doses, developed in the Netherlands and Baltimore, will be available in April.

The difference between the currently authorized vacancies in United States -Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna- J&J does not require a second injection or a free holiday for transport and conservation, which is a good candidate for use in airports giving transport and public transport infrastructure its own inadequacies.
