After John Johnson III, the security, signed the free agent at the Browns, his agents said their client passed on other offers that included more money to sign with the AFC North club.
Johnson explained why he made the decision during a video conference with the media after he officially signed his deal on Friday. Johnson saw a team increase with a few stars in defense who would benefit from adding a player with his skill.
‘I felt it was the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s rare, ”Johnson said via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
The Browns as a destination for players who want to be part of a winning team is something new for the NFL and it confirms that many of the decisions the team has made over the past year have been correct. If it goes to Johnson’s signing, he probably won’t be the last player to put the team at the top of their wish list.
