John Cleese mocks The Simpsons actor Hank Azaria’s recent apology for the Apu character by jokingly apologizing for Monty Python’s previous sketches.

On Tuesday, Cleese took to Twitter to take a slight jerk at Azaria because he feels he should apologize.

“Because I do not want to be left behind by Hank Azaria, I would like to apologize on behalf of Monty Python for all the many sketches we have made with the mockery of white English people,” Cleese joked. “We are sorry for the distress we have caused.”

The 81-year-old comedian regularly uses his Twitter to ‘cancel culture’ and recently mocked ‘wokeism’ as ‘idiocy’ in response to a fan.

Azaria, who has since said he will not speak to Apu as the show generally takes a stand against white actors who speak out as non-white characters, recently spoke to podcast presenters Dax Shepard and Monica Padman about the journey on which he learned to educate himself. the damage that Apu did to the Indian community.
