It’s no mystery what Steelers fans dreamed of adding former three-time defensive player of the year JJ Watt. The pipe dream started to catch on as soon as Derek Watt was with TJ Watt here in the Steel City. This feeling began to increase as soon as the former head coach of Texans and Bill O’Brien, general manager, started running the team into the ground. Now that franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson is demanding a trade in Houston, coupled with the fact that the Texans are on the brink of some awful years ahead, JJ Watt believes the opportunity to end his career elsewhere.
Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network announced the news of JJ’s impending departure. Garafolo even went so far as to say that Texans players are already new, the oldest Watt brother playing his last game as a Texan. Surprisingly for no one, Steelers fans, and even players, turned to him on social media to show their excitement about Watt’s availability, and this made JJ’s clear interest in playing with his brothers call the reaction a real frenzy. .
Almost immediately after the news broke, Steel Wats took to Twitter outside of linebacker TJ Watt to remind people how dominant his big brother was.
A tweet in which Steelers tackles, Zach Banner responded with a poison how he feels about the situation:
Here are some of the more entertaining tweets from the Steelers country:
