JJ Watt is asking fans to give him just a second to make him think as he prepares for his first off-season as a free agent.
Watt and the Houston Texans agreed last week to separate. Watt spent ten seasons with Houston, won three Defensive Player of the Year awards and was a five-time All-Pro. Now he can decide where to play next, but ardent fans hoping to pick their team forced Watt to take a breather.
“I flip through the door for an hour, before choosing a restaurant man …” he writes.

“You have to give me a moment to pick a new team and city.”
Watt will be 32 when the 2021 season begins. Last year, he played just the second time in all 16 games in the last five seasons. He scored five bags, 52 tackles and an interception.
JJ WATT’S FIRST TEAM PLACE TO JOIN HIM CARDINALS: ‘LET’S DECIDE WHAT WE START’
Frustrations seem to boil over during the season. He expressed the team’s performance in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals at the end of the 2020 season. He also apologized to Deshaun Watson for wasting another year of his best time – a moment captured on camera this season.
He was also upset about the team’s decision to fire longtime PR boss Amy Palcic and publicly rejected the Texans’ efforts to rebuild.
Watt’s departure is the latest uproar in Houston. It is rumored that DeShaun Watson has requested a trade, despite the reluctance of the organization to proceed with him.
