HOUSTON – The Houston Texans agree to separate defensive star JJ Watt from the fact that the player is confident in his release.
“I was with the McNair family and paid my release and agreed to be separated at this time,” Watt said in a video posted on Twitter.
Watt was elected by the Texans in 2011 with selection number 11 and was converted into the ranks of the franchise, winning three prizes at the NFL Defensive Player of the Year between 2012 and 2015. Watt is one of the three players winning this prize three times.
Watt came from his second season on July 16, 2015, having suffered from various lesions that would end his season.
In 2020, Watt captured the plague of 15 out of 119 pass-through corridors in the Passover Career Victory Case, according to ESPN Stats & Information’s investigation. It ended the season with five catches, two balloons that were forced and an interception that turned into a touchdown.
Watt is, by far, the most productive Kazamariscales in the history of the Texans, with 101 captures in his career. Solo has played in the history of the team with more than 30 catches in his career (Whitney Mercilus with 54 and Mario Williams with 53) since the first franchise in 2002.
During the time, Watt made it clear that he was not interested in playing for a team that would undergo a “reconstruction.”
“I do not believe that there is any secret that I have not had 10 years in this league”, said Watt in November. “Personally, I believe I have some great ones in me. But I can also … I’m looking to reconstruct. I’m looking for a champion, and that’s what I want.
When the final score of the season is announced, the Texans of 2021 will be in reconstruction mode, Watt said they have “so many unknown factors in this situation at the moment that it can definitely be said”.
Watt gave it a year on the contract it signed in 2014. It raised $ 17.5 million in 2021, but its salary was not guaranteed. Now it is free to trade with another team.
