Jimmy Kimmel said that the untested coronavirus treatment carried out by then-President Donald Trump last year – and which was parroted by right-wing media – is officially a bust. And now one state is $ 2 million in the hole because of it.
But as Kimmel noted, there were hints that Trump knew throughout that the drug was a bust.
“When Trump got the coronavirus, do you know what he did not take?” Ask Kimmel. “Hydroxychloroquine!”
Oklahoma, however, went on Trump’s recommendation and spent $ 2 million to save the drug – or as Kimmel put it: “using taxpayers’ money to show Donald Trump how much he means to them.”
The state is now trying to return the drug. In response, Kimmel mockingly suggested a tourism campaign around it:
